Donham said that even with the challenges of the pandemic, Rusty Taco has seen double-digit sales growth year over year. Designed as a place that feels authentic and approachable, Rusty Taco is a place to come enjoy a meal however the customer wants on the go, or to linger with. The Short Pump location comes after Donham and Carabell opened the area’s first Rusty Taco at Westchester Commons shopping center in September 2019. The restaurant expects to open with about 25 to 30 employees and hiring is underway. “I don’t think there’s anything quite like this brand in that market and we thought it’d be an awesome fit.” It’s a great community and special to me,” Donham said.
